Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how LocCoach ("we", "us") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the LocCoach iOS app.

Information we collect

• Account information: your email address and sign-in method (Apple, Google, or email/password).
• Hair profile: loc method, loc stage, estimated length, hair type, care goals, product preferences, and related onboarding answers you provide.
• Photos: progress photos you capture or upload for AI analysis and your personal progress timeline.
• AI analysis results: the structured output (stage, confidence, observations, recommendations) generated from your photos.
• Chat messages: conversations with the in-app AI coach, along with recent journal entries used to give the coach context.
• Journal entries and milestones: notes and achievements you record in your progress timeline.
• Device information: a push notification token (if you enable notifications) and your device timezone, used to schedule reminders at sensible local times.

How we use your information

We use your information to operate the app's core features: generating your weekly care routine, analyzing your progress photos, powering the AI coach chat, tracking your progress timeline, and sending routine/milestone push notifications you've opted into. We do not sell your information.

Who we share information with

We use the following service providers to run LocCoach. Each processes only what's needed to provide their service:

• Supabase — our backend database, file storage, and authentication provider. All your account data, photos, and app data are stored here.
• Anthropic (Claude) — processes your progress photos to generate analysis results, and processes your chat messages to generate coach replies.
• PostHog — product analytics. We do not use device-identifiable data (like your device's advertising ID) without your explicit tracking consent. Your analytics ID is an internal account identifier only, never your device ID.
• Sentry — crash and error reporting, so we can fix bugs.
• Resend — sends transactional emails, such as a link to download your exported data if you request one.
• Apple / Google — if you choose Sign in with Apple or Sign in with Google, those providers authenticate you; we only receive the account identifier and email address they share with your consent.

Data retention and deletion

If you delete your account in Settings, your account is soft-deleted immediately (you can restore it by signing back in within 14 days). After 14 days, your personal data is permanently and irreversibly deleted or anonymized, consistent with Apple's App Store guidelines. You can also request an export of your data before deletion.

Your rights

You can review and edit your profile information at any time in Settings. You can request a data export or delete your account at any time from Settings → Delete Account.

Children's privacy

LocCoach is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by an updated "Last updated" date above.
